What is the Science stream?

Science is chosen after Class 10, usually alongside Commerce and Arts, and focuses on understanding how the physical and biological world actually works. Students study a combination of Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology — the building blocks of engineering, medicine, technology and scientific research careers.

It suits students who enjoy logic, experiments and problem-solving, and who are curious about how machines, the human body, or emerging technologies like AI and biotechnology actually function. It's also the only stream that keeps both engineering (via PCM) and medical (via PCB) entrance exams genuinely open.

When and how to choose Science

Science is chosen right after Class 10 — your combination decides which doors stay open at Class 12.

After Class 10

  • Choose PCM (Physics, Chemistry, Maths) for engineering, defence and technology careers.
  • Choose PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) for medicine, biotechnology and healthcare careers.
  • PCMB keeps both engineering and medical entrance exams open, with a heavier workload.

After Class 12

  • PCM students sit JEE Main/Advanced or state CETs for engineering; PCB students sit NEET for medical degrees.
