Cookie Policy
The short version: Margdarshan uses one thing — Google Analytics 4 — to understand overall site traffic, and that's the only source of cookies on this site. Here's the full, honest explanation of exactly what that involves and how to control it.
Last updated: July 2026What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser, typically used to remember who you are across visits, track your activity, or personalise your experience. Many websites use them for logins, shopping carts, or advertising — none of which Margdarshan has.
Do we use cookies?
Yes, for analytics only. Margdarshan uses Google Analytics 4 to understand overall site traffic — which pages are read, roughly how visitors found the site, and general location and device information. To do this, Google Analytics sets a small number of cookies in your browser (typically named things like _ga and _ga_*) that help distinguish visitors and sessions. We do not set any cookies of our own — no login cookies, no advertising cookies, no cross-site tracking. This is the only source of cookies anywhere on this site.
Local storage isn't a cookie — here's the difference
Margdarshan does use one piece of browser storage: your dark mode preference, saved via your browser's local storage feature. While it shares a similar goal to a cookie (remembering something between visits), it works differently and matters differently for your privacy:
| Cookies | Local storage (what we use) | |
|---|---|---|
| Sent to our server? | Yes, with every request | No — stays entirely on your device |
| Can be used to track you across sites? | Often, yes | No — confined to this site only |
| What we store | Nothing | Just "light" or "dark" |
| Expiry | N/A | Until you clear your browser data |
You can clear this at any time through your browser's site-data settings — it will simply reset to your system's light/dark preference on your next visit.
Third-party services
This site loads typeface files from Google Fonts so pages render with the correct typography. Google's font-serving infrastructure is designed not to set cookies when delivering font files. Your browser does still make a direct network request to Google's servers to fetch the fonts, which — like any web request — can reveal standard technical information such as your IP address, independent of cookies. See our Privacy Policy for more on this.
We use Google Analytics 4 (Google LLC) to measure site traffic and understand how visitors use Margdarshan. It sets cookies in your browser and sends usage data (pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type) to Google's servers. See our Privacy Policy for full details on what's collected, and the section above for how to opt out.
We do not use Google AdSense, Facebook Pixel, or any other third-party service beyond Google Fonts and Google Analytics described on this page.
Controlling cookies in general
Most browsers let you view, block or delete cookies set by any website, including the Google Analytics cookies described above. Look for "Privacy," "Site settings," or "Cookies" in your browser's settings menu (the exact wording varies by browser and device). Blocking cookies for this site only stops analytics measurement — every page and guide will still work normally.
